This lovely rich red comes from one of our smallest scale suppliers, English expats Deborah and Peter Core.
It’s a 50+ year old vine Carignan Noir based blend that’s full-bodied and tasty, yet smooth, with gentle tannins. Deep rich purple hues with notes of intense black fruits and liquorice. Incredibly well balanced with sweet spices on the finish. The Wine Advocate described the 2014 vintage as ‘elegant, unique and perfumed’ and more recent vintages, are very much in the same vein. It’s the perfect accompaniment to most barbecued, grilled or roasted food, particularly duck or rabbit.
